<How to Bring Your Cat to USA>

* This is based on what "Hyeonito" has been researched on the web and his personal experience

so please be known of that the information could be somewhat different from others.“

● People, who want to bring their pets from South Korea to USA, just need only two paper of certificates.

▶ 1. Certificate of Vaccination for Rabies(in Eng)

▶ 2. Certificate of health(in Eng)

3. extra paper (if it’s applicable) - Optional

( It depends on a country that you are going to stay so you should contact with a quarantine house for exact info)

** You need to vaccinate your pet at least a month ago(recommended)

and you only need to get a certificate of the vaccination whether it has antibody or not.

** You only need ENG version of certificate of vaccination for rabies.

(Korean officers can read the Eng documents, no worries!)

(You don’t need to spend extra money for Korean version of the document)

** The vaccine for rabies should be the authorized vaccine that is on American Vaccine List

(If you get one which is not approved by the list, then you need to vaccinate your pet again... :-/ )

** The certificate of health would be asked again, when you arrived in the US

If you get those paper above, you need to visit a quarantine house in Incheon international airport.

And you need to submit the prepared paper to them in order to receive a certificate of quarantine.

When you go to 3rd floor – Depart floor – F counter of Incheon airport there is a quarantine station.

KOREAN : 인천공항 3층 출국동 F카운터 -> 동물,식물,휴대수출검역/축산관계자출국신고센터

Their office hour is <AM 9:00 ~ PM 17:30><Lunch break PM 12:00~13:00>

so you should be there in their office time before you check-in

or 

you should visit them one day before you leave(If you are running out of time)

** After quarantine, they will give you three paper of certificates of quarantine. 

They will attach one on the cage, another one(Duplicate) is for your airline counter 

and the other one (original copy) is for claiming in the US

** Pets must have microchips (They will scan your pets)

** When cats suddenly see a lot of people in an unfriendly place, they could be scared and stressed out

so cover their cages with a blanket or your jacket. It will help them to reduce stress.

** Please check the regulations of each airline

** Cat boarding cost is $200 (following Delta airlines)

** Again, please check the dimension of your kennel and weight of your pet with your airline.
